My computer finally bit-the-dust after a frustrating 2 weeks of driver issues and system freeze ups. I'm ordering a new hard drive today and hope to have the system back up and running sometime next week.

My heart goes out to you. Just gave up on mine & invested in a new machine. A week after ordering my new laptop I discovered I had bad RAM after swapping chips around. Replaced/upgraded RAM & saw major improvement. Not perfect yet but the ram helped a great deal. In the meantime I have a nice new shiny toy to play with & may be able to resuscitate my old machine after all. Good luck with yours. You have an outstanding blog with some great selections. (Just lost a battle with a really bad virus. Even after a wipe and OS reinstall it came back because it'd infected an executable that I had copied back over.)
